Quick Review: Silkygirl Matte Junkie Lip Cream

Silkygirl Matte Junkie Lip Cream. Top, 01 Retro. Bottom, 04 Vintage.

With brands coming out left and right with their own version of matte liquid lipsticks, this matte lip trend is far away from ending. It's about time for local brand Silkygirl to join in the craze and give us their take on the mass favourite lip product. They have a total of 5 colour selections and this review here is only on the two colours I purchased.

Silkygirl Matte Junkie Lip Cream. Top, 01 Retro. Bottom, 04 Vintage.

Formula: Light, whipped mousse-y texture similar to the Soft Matte Lip Creams from NYX, thus very comfortable to wear. Like most lip products with whipped mousse-y texture, they tend to be comfortable on the lips. They do not dry out your lips so your lips won't be looking like a sad prune (but I advise to always use a lip balm prior to using ANY matte formulas, your lips will thank you).

Application: Both of the colours apply a bit streaky. I applied two layers to get even application on my lips. I would suggests a thin application first, and then another layer on top for full on colour.

Longevity: Does not transfer and lasts long! It made it through lunch and several cups of coffee.

Colours: Total of 5 colour selections. 01 Retro is a muted terracotta with a slight pink undertone. 04 is   a medium toned dusty rose. All of the colours seem to have a muted/pastel undertone.

Price: RM 18-20

Final thougts: If you are a newbie in matte liquid lipsticks, I would definitely suggest you to try out these because of the accessibility and quality. It may not have a huge range of colour selection but it is nothing that you cannot work with.
